Barney Bass (Bose) and Alice Shrader Hurst

Barney Bass Hurst (Bose) and Alice Shrader Hurst were among the first settlers in the Big Woods Community on Sand Mountain, better known now as New Home. They raised nine children plus a child of Mr. Hurst’s sister which was orphaned at an early age. The children were Connie, Bonnie, Armelda, Ci1la Mae, Loyd, Leonard, Lawrence, Dorthy and Maconal. The adopted child was Floyd White.
