THIS IS THE FAMILY HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL RECORDS OF EMERSON BLEVINS, TENTH (l0TH) CHILD OF JONATHAN BLEVINS.

EMERSON WAS BORN IN, 1854 IN DADE COUNTY IN JOHNSON’S CROOK, GEORGIA ON AUGUST 31, 1854. HE WORKED AS A BLACKSMITH. HE MARRIED PARALEE SMITH FROM DEER HEAD COVE IN DEKALB CO. ALABAMA. SHE WAS BORN ON NOVEMBER 7, 1853. EMERSON DIED APRIL 28 1929 AND IS BURIED IN PAYNE CEMETERY, TRENTON, GEORGIA. PARALEE DIED MARCH 16T 1937 AND IS BURIED IN PAYNE CEMETERY.

POINTS OF INTEREST:  PARALEE FELL AND BROKE HER HIP IN THE LATE 1920’S. SHE LAID IN BED FOR SEVERAL YEARS AT HER HOME IN NEW ENGLAND, GEORGIA. SHE MADE QUILT TOPS TO PASS THE TIME AWAY. SEVERAL OF THE QUILT TOPS HAVE BEEN MADE IN TO QUILTS AND GIVEN TO HER GREAT, GREAT-GREAT AND GREAT, GREAT, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SOME OF THESE GRAND CHILDREN CONTINUE TO LIVE IN DADE COUNTY AND REPRESENTS EIGHT GENERATIONS THAT HAVE LIVED IN DADE COUNTY, GEORGIA. AMY BLEVINS COLE, CHASE TYLER COLE AND GASSIDY ANN COLE THAT RECEIVED ONE OF THE QUILTS RESIDES ON THE FARM WHERE PARALEE LIVED AND DIED IN NEW ENGLAND, GEORGIA.
