William Marion Chadwick was born July 3, 1821 in TN. He married Agga Ann White on Mar. 30, 1846. She was born Dec. 10, 1826 in TN. William was the son of Thomas and Matilda Obedience Chadwick. Agga Ann was the daughter of Dr. George and Sara White. They made their home at Sulphur Springs and their house was said to be on the AL/GA state line. Family tradition says that when their daughter Sarah was married in her home, she got dressed in the bedroom in one state and was married in the parlor in the other state. The family is found in the 1850 and 1860 Dade Co. census and the 1870 and 1880 Dekalb Co., AL census. The Chadwicks had twelve children.
George R. Chadwick was a minister. He married Blanchey Emaline Hawkins. He was born in Dade Co., June 18, 1847 and died in 1902 and is buried in the Head Springs Cemetery near Valley Head, AL. His children were Elizabeth, Evaline, Martha, William Riley, Thomas, James A., and Ella Chadwick.
Sara Ann Chadwick was born Mar. 15, 1849 in Dade Co. She married Walker Glyn Harris on Oct. 1, 1866. Their children were Mary Virginia (Jennie, who married Calendar E. Hawkins), William Ezekiel, Martha Magdalene, Parley Frimon, Harvey Walker, Edda Marvin, Martin Luther, Dora Ann, Thomas Byson, Scott Alexander, and Raymond Jackson Harris. The Harris family, except for oldest daughter Jennie, moved west to Arkansas and then to Oklahoma. Sarah Ann Harris died June 21, 1933 in Vanita, OK and was buried in Spiro, OK.
Thomas Jefferson Chadwick, born Feb. 8, 1851, married America Ann Snead @ 1870. Their children were Ollie, Sallie and William.
William Alexander Chadwick was born Jan. 18, 1853. He married Margaret Kirksey. They had seven children: Edgar, Eulala, Laura, Della, Ida, Adelia and Ruby. William was living in Marion Co., TX when his father died in 1899. He died April 27, 1927.
Samuel M. Chadwick, born May 18, 1855, married Elizabeth Sarah Crow on Mar. 28, 1878 in Dekalb Co., AL. Their children were Adah, Alfred Jackson, John Calvin, Lula, Cinda, Ollie Vann, and Erskine. His second marriage was to Mollie Seymour on July 25, 1899. He is buried in Head Springs Cemetery.
Andrew Jackson Chadwick was born in Dade Co. Mar. 20, 1857 and married Olie V. Russell on Jan. 3, 1885 in Dekalb Co., AL. They had six children: Patrick Conley, Dennis, J. Floyd, Bonnie, Jesse E., and Philma Jackson. He died in 1925.
Chaney Elizabeth Chadwick was born Nov. 7, 1859 and married John N. Crow on Mar. 17, 1879. Their children were Lula Ethel and Oscar. Her second marriage was to James Monroe Lowery. She died Mar. 20, 1924 and is buried at Head Springs.
John Benjamin Chadwick was born April 1, 1861. He was married three times. He married Sarah Elizabeth Griffin on Feb. 14, 1884. They had three daughters Hattie, Mae and Beulah. His third wife was Mary Ramsey. They had a daughter Marjorie Anne. He was living in Houston County, TX in 1899 when his father died.
Amanda Jane Chadwick was born Nov. 28, 1864. She married Thomas Payne. Their children were Asa Basil, Verbon, Conrad Thomas (m. Edna Hatfield), Connie Ann (twins), and Idas Payne.
James F. Chadwick, born Oct. 2, 1867, married Elizabeth Tatum. He died April 3, 1890. Henry R. Chadwick was born @1870. He must have died young. Charles W. Chadwick was born Mar. 29, 1874 and married Laura E. Hulgan. He died in 1945 and is buried at Head Springs Cemetery.
William Chadwick’s will was made in Hamilton Co. TN in 1899 and is also recorded in Dekalb Co., AL. He died Mar. 21, 1899. Agga Ann died June 8, 1896. Both are buried at Head Springs.
