Martha Ann Wakefield was a beautiful woman. Everyone says that about a grandparent, but she really was. I have a picture of her and she is indeed beautiful. I also have her reading glasses. They are tiny and are attached to a chain which pinned to her dress. Martha Ann was known as “Aunt Matt” by her nieces and nephews. There were other members of the Wakefield family who migrated to Tarrant County, TX prior to and at the same time as John Henry and Martha Ann.

They had the following children: Sopha Lula Soler (1866- ); George Henry Sutton (Sutton), (born on 10 Feb 1868 in Trenton, Dade County, GA and died in Dallas, Dallas County, TX. George Henry Sutton (called Sutton) and Sarah Taylor Basden had no children. However, they raised Ruth Knight and Alice White, both nieces of Marion White who married Sutton’s sister, Lillie Olivia Basden… jtb.George Henry Sutton (Sutton) married Sarah Taylor, born in Mar 1873 in TX.)
