I am a native of Dade County. I have lived on Sand Mountain all of my life. I have always loved art, even at a young age. I did not start painting until I was in my thirties. When you have children and work, there is not a lot of time to paint. I don’t have a particular style. I love dark colors and rich textures. I have had several commissions –some a little strange, for instance a huge saw mill blade. I have done several murals. Now that I have grandchildren I have found a more wonderful and inspiring subject.

Without the love and support of my family, I don’t think that I would have ever had pictures in shows and in galleries. They are my best and worst critics. My family supports me when I need it and push me when I am ready to throw in the towel. I hope everyone can find something in their life they love to do as much as I like to paint.
